It’s great to meet you!
We are Rowan (left) & Merlin (right), a Dutch wedding film- and photography couple who share a love for great stories.
We feel so so lucky that somehow, someway our timelines collided.
Our story begins about 7 years ago, and thanks to Merlin’s determination, the spark ignited 5 years ago. Our values, hobbies, life goals, and sense of humor turned out to be the same, while our talents and personalities were different but complementary. This not only set the foundation for a good relationship, but also for great teamwork where we both can thrive in our strengths.
It’s an incredibly beautiful experience to find your life partner, and for us, it meant discovering a new future together. We have been working together full-time in the wedding industry for 5 years now and have lived in various places (Thailand, Austria, Sri Lanka, Netherlands).

Thank you for being here. I feel so lucky that this is my work: it’s my happy place. I get amazed every day by the stories of my couples, seeing and sharing in their happiness is a privilege I don’t take for granted. Seeing their vision come to live is inspiring, but the moments that truly get to me are not the ones that we’ve planned ahead. It’s the little ones in between. The unexpected. I live to see and catch these moments
So, what to tell? In short: here are the facts. I am a 30 year old extravert who absolutely adores our holiday-labradoodle (actually my parents’ dog). I love to dance, surf, hike and to get lost in old cities with endless amounts of stories and beautiful architecture. You won’t often see me sit still as I get “easily inspired”. I remember somebody saying you are lame if your work is your hobby, but too bad: you can wake me up anytime to create art with my camera
History: Before switching fulltime to wedding photography I’ve had different photography jobs. I’ve worked in event, fashion, family and studio photography, while following an interdisciplinary/psychology study at the University of Amsterdam. After finishing my bachelors, I’ve decided to focus fully on what I love most; combine my creative side with my ability to easily connect with people.
A friend once described my style as Italian spice. For me it’s a mixture of art, genuine memories, nostalgia, confidence and a hint of your secret quirks (because honestly, life is more fun when we draw outside the lines, right?) .

THE SECRET TO SUCCES IS A GOOD SYSTEM
Growing up, my parents were total film buffs – they worked as film operators, a job that’s pretty much extinct now. They crossed paths in those old-school cinemas, and I guess you could say I inherited their love for storytelling and films.
My vibe on a wedding day is quite different from Rowan’s. I’m more of the laid-back, calm, introverted type (even if Rowan insists on calling me an introverted extrovert). Maybe it’s because I’m all about the technical side of video – something I’m always fascinated by.
As a filmmaker, I reckon the secret sauce for a killer story lies in its preparation. So, I neatly organize every chat we’ve ever had, take down notes with my note-taking system, and always know the next steps in the storytelling game.
Outside of work, you’ll find me hanging out with my friends, trying my hand at all sorts of sports (gym, surfing, mountain biking), DJ’ing, and dabbling in music production (I’m a total beginner, but hey, we all start somewhere). Oh, and I’m all about those wild vacations with Rowan, friends, and family.
Back when I started as a photographer five years ago, I quickly realised video was my preferred medium. The real-time capture of emotions and spoken words meant I could always go back to those moments, even when life has other plans.
